Fables have long been used as tools to educate and build the moral character of children. These stories usually revolve around animals which arouse special interests among the children. The animals in these short yet interesting stories for the children behave in a particular manner, which directly or indirectly communicates to the children what ought to be done in a particular situation.
This book, Puss In Boots (Fancy Story Board-Books), makes an attempt to impart such subtle moral values through these short stories. It is a colored story-book in fancy board book style which engages the child, making it a light read. The main protagonist of the story is a cat who wears boots and thus the name of the book, Puss In Boots. The character is an age-old character of European literary fairy tales. The Puss in Boots uses his tricks to gain power, money, and ultimately, the princess for his master who is penniless and poor.
Every short story in this book shows how cunningly but intelligently puss manages to make his own way. However cunning and shrewd this puss seems to be, he does everything for his poor master who once thought him to be a useless but trustworthy friend of his. This in a way teaches the small kids the important lesson of trust, loyalty, and intelligence while having a strong moral ground for themselves.
Puss In Boots (Fancy Story Board-Books) was published by Dreamland Publications in 2012, and is available in the Board Book format.
